Rules for Sugar Beet Days Vendors, Tax and Parking information. Food Vendors have Health Department requirements and additional requirements as noted. Horizontal TabsApplications and CancellationsApplications We will accept applications as long as we have space available. Non Food Vendor Application Food Vendors need to have their forms in by September 1, including the Vendor Application for Temporary Food Events. A limited number of Electrical Outlets are available for an additional fee. Cancellations Cancellations must be made by September 1 to receive a refund of application fees. If you are unable to attend: please notify us (even as late as the day of the show, so we are able to adjust booth spaces). Booth SetupSetup Friday setup starts at 3:00 pm and continues until dark. Saturday setup starts at 6:00 am or daylight. Must be set up by 9 a.m. Electrical cords must be taped down for customer safety. No generators are allowed in the general vendor area. Food Vendors Food Vendors will not be able to setup until the courthouse closes on Friday (5:00 pm). 50 & 30 amp electrical and water hookups are available. Generators are allowed in this area. At least a 100' cord will be needed and must be taped down for customer safety. Booths Vendor booth size is 10' x 10', though we try to measure generously so you have breathing room. We recommend Vendors have a canopy for weather conditions. Booths must be set up by 9:00 am on Saturday. Booths must stay open during the Festival's official hours: 9am to 5pm on Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. NO stakes are allowed in the courthouse lawn, all canopies must be anchored using other methods, sandbags, cement blocks, PVC pipe filled with sand or cement, etc. All booths will be inspected before the show, if not tied down properly you will be asked to change your booth tie-downs or leave the show without a refund of your fees. Location We group Handcrafted wares separate from Commercial wares, however as space becomes limited we sometimes have to mix. Requesting electricity will somewhat determine your placement as only certain areas have electricity available. Food Vendors Food Vendor Requirements You must follow the Health Department's requirements for temporary food establishments. You must complete a Vendor Application for Temporary Food Events (a copy of this form will also be sent to you along with your confirmation letter). Your completed form should be mailed to us by September 1 at:Sugar Beet Days 804 W Main St Sterling, CO 80751 You will be inspected by the Health Department personnel on Saturday morning. You must pass inspection or will not be allowed to open and will not receive a refund of your registration fee. Sales Taxes Sugar Beet Days Committee You must pay Sales Taxes on your gross sales, a total of 4% to the State and 3% to the City. The Sugar Beet Days Committee has Sales Tax Licenses and can remit sales taxes for you. If you don't pay your sales taxes to the Sugar Beet Days Committee, you need to apply for the appropriate licenses and file a return and payment. If you have a State or City Sales Tax License and prefer for us to forward those funds, please provide your tax numbers on your Vendor Application. We are required to send a list of vendors to both the State Department of Revenue and the City of Sterling. Total Sales Tax is 7% Colorado State Sales Tax is 2.9% Logan County Sales tax is 1% Sterling City Sales Tax is 3% South Platte Rural Transportation Authority Sales tax is .1% Sterling sales tax As a Home Rule City, Sterling collects sales tax directly, not the through State Department of Revenue. You are responsible for collecting the 3% Sterling Sales Tax and paying it directly to the City or to the Sugar Beet Days committee. A Sterling Sales Tax License is free of charge and an application is enclosed with your confirmation letter. Parking Curb Parking Keep curb spaces around the courthouse open for customers. Parking at the curb should be used for unloading only by vendors on all sides of the courthouse. When you're done unloading, move your vehicle so your customers have a place to park. Courthouse Parking No oversized RV's allowed in the parking lot. Double parking will be ticketed by the police. Additional Parking 1 block North of the Courthouse (on the West side of the block, by the theatre). East of Wells Fargo Bank 2 blocks East of the courthouse (in the railroad area).
